Addicted to Frogs

I have some Ribbits but haven't had much luck if at all yet with moving frog types. I tend to do better with slow methodical top water stuff. I do need to give them more of a try though.

Have you caught anything at Lake Williams with your frogs?

Did they drain the lake some and if they did is it back up to the normal water levels. I know me and my brother want to make a trip down and try another part of the lake we didn't fish the first time down last year.

I've caught a couple there with frogs. With no weeds/pads (Well there are some but you can't boat back there for some reason) its mostly fishing them under trees and drop offs.

Williams is actually a bit high with the rain we have been getting. No draw down yet, I think that happens in the fall.

Knot Right hooked me on frogs just as I had made the commitment to work the long rods for an entire year. Before I knew it I had two mossy back frog rods rigged with the 200e7s and I was froggin my Azz off and had won a challenge and placed high in a few others and Froggin was the only game in town. I was the Reverend of Frogs, preachin the gospel and hookin everyone I knew...

I'd flip the frog onto the edge of the bank, and with a flick of the wrist the frog would come to life and HOP into the water and the lunker would explode! If not I swam them so slow that there was actually an audible delay between the left and right foot strike. Really angered the big bassies and they would show that anger by striking from above! The airiel attacks were a thing of beauty! I'd describe them and NON-Believers would say... yeah, right.... put it on video before you bring me that message....

So, I tied on the Bull Ribbet in my favorite color, and turned on the video glasses and off I went:

I was watching the video, saying to myself "There is no way you can tell how big a fish is by... HOLY SH@%!"

At one point in the vid the fish is completely straight and the frog is also in the vid, and is a known length, 3 or 3-1/2" if I remember... When Luther called me I walked out to the boathouse and measured the exact frogs I had been using. He measured the fish using the frog as a yardstick.... His reply was between 27 and 28" I was blown away.

Remember... Luther is YakAttack, a very gifted design engineer with a HIGH end CAD program. Me? I use "paint."

PP, how are those Lake Fork frog hooks? I went 2 for 6 or so tonight and am thinking that they may help out.
