"Goody Mary Elastics" work VERY well on 5-in worms, and they are strong & cheap ($2.75 for 75 elastic bands at Wally world). You have to "double" the band (I use hemostats), then slip it on; it fits 5-in worms great. Worms definitely last longer with these vs. hooking the worm directly.

Should have gone with my gut feelings. Sales people that usually don't carry a product will say something negative about it. That is why I enjoy the TRUST I have with these forums. Always get the straight scoop. Not only that, but alternative suggestions too. I will try that Yum Dinger and it was a Gary Yamamoto Senko that I was using.(very expensive) Just bought the hooks from this guy. Thanks so much for all your help and information.

Also, what type of hooks do ya'll use. I got a weedless hook with a long curved shank.

My boss handed me a pack of Strike King Zeros today. They feel like they would be killer and they are like $3 and change for a pack of 7-8.

Made out of that ZMan plastic that is supposed to be indestructible. I'll give them a try this weekend if my Frog bite every dies(please, no!)

If they are made from the Z Man plastic they will last longer. I been using as my new bait the Z Man Finease Z fluke and I caught 10 LM on 1 of them til I got snagged and just couldn't pull free and lost it. In my 3 years of fishing never has a plastic bait last as long as Z Man.

O-rings help, I know it and still don't have one yet . Also for a stickbait that peforms well and won't break the bank, Gander Mountain brand stick baits! A pack of 4" baits is $3-4 and you get 20 worms plus a gammy hook in the pack. If you like 5" there are 15 in a pack. Or you can get the bulk packs they sell.

Here is a Gamakatsu hook guide, which recommends specific hooks and shows how to hook the bait; this has helped me get started.

Forget i said anything about this particular stick bait. Terrible as a wacky rig. It just doesn't have that "senko action. Not a slam on ZMan plastic, it just doesn't work in this application.

I go with either the Strike King or Yum Dinger from Wally World. $3 & change is a lot better on the wallet than the Yamamatto's. But I know when the bite is really tough, the name brand can make the difference.

But for me, the "off brand" works just fine!
