TallPaul in one of his blogs mentioned Shakespeare Omniflex, and how much it surprised him for the price. I thought I'd give it a try because I was searching for just the right # on one of my baitcasters. It's good stuff. Ultra cheap, great knot strength, and surprisingly low memory. And if ya bird's nest it too bad, you're only out like $1 to re-spool. The 12# test feels more like 10#, and it's a great all-around mono.
But as has been said, Big Game is tried and true, I can't think of anyone who hasn't used that line at some point.

Another tried & true mono is BassPro Excell - cheap & you get allot of it.
