Those pics of the bay are awesome. Considering you're listed in TX makes it more awesome!

Lived there for the last 25 years Linc, just left 6 months ago to return back to Texas where I grew up and where all my family is. Planning on being back in south Florida in the next couple of months....for good!

I don't have to fish everyday as long as I have a place to look at the water everyday.

Observation tower in North Beach Park in Hollywood. Two other nice observation areas, one in Ann Kolb Nature Center at West Lake, one in Holland Park off Johnson St in Hollywood.

Holland Park Observation Tower...best kayak ramp in Florida, access to IntraCoastal Waterway, West Lake, and North Lake.

Best place to launch for offshore would be from John Lloyd State Park.

^^^ I fish Dania EVERY weekend :D

I park at the pier and launch right there, by far one of the easiest places to park/launch I've found. I can't wait until the bait comes back in full force in the next couple weeks. Nothing like sabiking up some livies, and paddling out to the sunrise...

Dania Beach Pier is a beautiful place but I can't stand to pay $1.50 an hour for parking. Prefer state park season park pass or paying $3.00 for the whole day.

Love the confused water just south of the inlet at about the 60 ft depths for kingfish.

Another thing I love about Dania, is even when its SLOPPY on the beach, once you paddle out about a mile its like a lake. "Confused water" describes it perfectly, and in that picture if you were top drop a frozen 'hoo on a 3 hook bucktail kingfish rig you'd be on the fish in no time! Paddle a little farther 150-200ft of water just off the 3rd reef and its Blackfin, AJ, Gags, Muttons, Runners, Mahi and TONS of Bonita. I've cursed the amount of Bonita I've caught in a day while deep jigging. Your arms hurt from paddling, then from all the deep drops, throw 5-6 Bonita in the mix and its almost like "Sh!t I have to paddle back?" I've never complained about a fish on the end of my line, but sometimes the BONEheads get on my nerves

I swear everytime I launch at Dania, and paddle out to 1st light I always have that "Man, I love where I live" revelation even if it's every weekend. Blessed to say the least!

Going out (finally) tomorrow :D
Wish me luck!
Gonna launch at Cape Florida on the southern tip of Key Biscayne.
Mostly going to be a scouting trip. I've rigged up DOA shrimp on a popping cork, heard this is a pretty good setup.
I was wondering how long the leader should be. Thanks.
