No kidding right!!

I updated the write up to include some lessons learned at the end that others may find beneficial on their future outings.

Great blog, tough time on the water.
Just curious about the elite 5.
When you flipped did the fishfinder take a dunk?
I just got an elite 5 and I was wondering how it did after that.

Thanks

The Elite 5 never quit working!! I wouldn't say take it for a swim and go underwater exploring for an extended period of time, but for the 20-30 seconds I was in the water, it still worked fine after the kayak was righted.

That's a tough morning - next time, be sure and wear red on Friday the 13th. It is suppose to keep away the evil spirits :o

BTW..(sorry to hijack the thread) I've been meaning to ask, how are the 'toothy critters' at the CBBT? I haven't seen anyone say anything about them.

If you are referring to the summer species like Sheepshead and Flounder, then they are on fire right now. If you are referring to sharks, they are around but most of them are in the shallow inlets. I wouldn't recomment keeping any fish on a stringer in the inlets - more than a few folks have commented on other sites that they had a large croaker severred by a monster bluefish. I could only imagine what a shark would do to a fish that was attached to your kayak by a rope or stringer

Get a soft sided large insulated cooler and stow your fish in the hatch or in the tankwell ;)
