A good year on the river so far...

Postby Riverpirate » Thu Aug 04, 2011 7:02 pm

I decided that if I was going to learn to catch bass on the river with a fly rod, I was going to have to use one. I made a comitment to use only a fly rod starting in January. It has paid off so much so that I now think I may never go back to regular gear. Here are a few of the river fish I have caught so far on the river:

And most don't know Georgia has smallmouth in our rivers:

The first fish is actually a shoal bass. Not sure how long he was but he weight 7-4. Just a little more than a pound off the world record. Input here back. I know where she stays.

Wow nice job with the long rod! Those are some gorgeous bass, that one before the smallmouth is that a Spotted Bass? Great coloration.
If I had the paticiance to fish sinking flies I'd use the flyrod for Bass year around.
