Focus....Thats it. I stopped fishing for smallies, put myself in musky territory and stayed there for close to two hours standing, paddling and casting just for Musky while all the guys, but one kept going looking for bass. They are the fish of 10,000 casts, I'll be out this weekend for a full-day float on Sat. targeting only Musky and Northerns. That is what is great about the river, there are so many different species to chase besides smallmouth.

yep....I do overnights all the time, its my preference to be honest and I have it down to a science and with my guiding business I can take four guys out for 3 to 4 days and provide all the meals, everything, but sleeping bags. Divide it among five kayaks and its not a lot of gear. I started climbing and backpacking as a kid so I just took everything that I learned from living on the side of a mountain for a week or more and transferred it to the yaks.
