Thinking about a Snakehead event.....

Postby Swamp Rat » Tue Apr 24, 2012 10:52 am

...for one of the next events. What do you guys think? Just remember, this will NOT be a catch and release, this will be either you keep it to eat or you kill it and let nature take care of the remains....this fish is BAD for our ecosystem.

Anytime I have fished there for Bass, Snakeheads have been caught as well. Apparently they like "Wacky" rigs as well! :?

Let's make this a big event and get a lot of anglers out there and put a hurtin' on them. I think that it would be good for the fishery and good fun. Does South Florida have anything like Hunters for the Hungry or something like that to donate the meat to? It would be another benefit of the event, they actually taste pretty good. Thoughts?

I would throw up some prizes to promote killin' some of these scoundrels......

Chad...I will check into the "Hunters for the Hungry" aspect and let you know! I also have a contact who works for Fish and Wildlife so I will give him a call for any additional information...
