Any of you central virginia folks have some recommendations for a James River 2 day float, camping out the for the overnight stay?
I'm trying to put something together for a few buddies of mine, but haven't really looked into something like this for the James. I'm probably the most hardcore fisherman of the group, so most guys will be in canoes and will just enjoy the paddling, camping and camaraderie. Of course, I'll be fishing as we float but that won't be the pure goal of this.
Anyone have any 411 on something like this?

2 trips come to mind. 1) Scottsville to Bremo, Camping at the Hardware River launch or on the islands across from there. 2) Bent creek to the James river state park. You can leave you camping stuff at your site. Day 1 Bent Creek to your site. Day 2 is from one end of the park to the other.

Scottsville to Bremo is a cool float, I would second that.

I would 3rd the Scottsville to Bremo float. Decent fishing (at least in previous years) and some small riffles/rapids to keep the non-fishers somewhat interested. There is a decent camping area about a half mile west of the hardware river landing on the south side of the river. It's a sandy island with some tree cover for shade. Have not been there for a couple years but it used to be just about perfect. You can see it pretty good on google maps.
