Hi folks! New KBF member here, checking in from the gulf coast of Florida...Sarasota area to be exact. I haven't yet made the purchase of my first yak, however after doing a ton of reading and research I think I am about ready to pull the trigger. I have found a lot of valuable information on this site and I am impressed by the willingness of people to lend a hand and help answer questions. I grew up fishing freshwater on the Finger Lakes of NY and I am slowly getting acquainted with salt water side of things. FL pretty much has it all though, so I am super excited about having the opportunity to do both from a kayak. I look forward to "meeting" everyone and being a part of this great community. Stay safe...
Ken

Welcome. Love to see the FL representation. As mentioned, kayak fishing on your side is very popular and there are some great places to fish.

Glad to have you. Most of my kayak fishing is in saltwater, and it is a blast! I'd wanted a flats skiff for years until i found this particular addiction. Don't need one now. I'll leave those to the guides and just enjoy the yak.
