You might also check and see if you have a local bass pro shop. There brand is Ascend and it's a nice entry level kayak and the price is right about your limit. Some models are less, some models are more.
Now if you happen to know someone that works at bass pro, have them buy it for you and use their 40% discount (on the Ascend brands only)and save even more.
Of course there is always craigslist as well
