Heading out, Float Plans, Fishing reports, lessons learned, productive patterns, not so productive patterns, sob stories, came home and your wife was gone, got skunked..........
Haven't been out to Tenoroc in almost 2 years. When I got there the pit I wanted to fish was already full so I hit one of the others that I have fished before but got skunked the last time I was out there.
Landed 5. Had a lot more shortstrikes and lost 2 VERY nice fish on the jump.
The other I lost was as big, maybe a touch larger.
Cool little vid there. Your comments, albeit breif, cracked me up...especially the GD ---> hung head.
I dropped a MF when I lost a nice one on the river this weekend, unfortunately there were some kids in the next yard below me. I didn't know they where there until I floated past
Sorry about the lost fish, hopefully you'll get 'em next time.
It probably would have been worse if I had know it was that nice. I didn't know how nice until I got home and watched the video..... over and over and over again.
And my butt was too puckered up when I damn near ran right into that big gator on the bank.
i don't really care for that setup for toad fishing but my curado was being serviced and my new StCroix Legends didn't show up till i was unloading my Yak that afternoon.
Cool video....It's impressive how those bigger fatter bass are still nimble enough to shake themselves off a sharp barbed hook That was how my weekend went.....
Good job putting a couple in the PA
Lucky 13
WS Commander 140 Perception Sport Caster 12.5 R.I.P. (seriously, R.I.P. I ran over it with my Jeep on I-35N)
Nice Vid!! Had a "head hanging" experience this weekend too so I feel your pain.......Kinda makes me happy I dont have a go-pro because woulda watched that thing over n over too..
Cool video. I love the sound of that one hit. Good stuff. I've had days like that. Sometimes they eat good and you catch every one and other times it's hard to keep a hook in 'em.
the 2 nice fish I lost were absolutely terrible hooksets.
the first you can see me flinch when she stuck, then I set way too fast and really weak. Instead of reeling down and putting it on her.
the second I put some force on it but the reel twisted in my hand at the top and didn't drive it home. There is a reason why that setup is a backup combo.
I enjoy making the videos because I like watching other's videos but mostly it shows me what I'm doing wrong. That day I was just being impatient. several times I caught myself before setting the hook too soon but the one I screwed up cost me a nice fish.
By the way. a few weeks ago there was a 14lb, 29+ in monster pulled out of that very pit. Tenoroc can be a tough fishery, but there are some beasts hiding in there

Good points. I am finding my hook up to landing ratio is not near as good as it should be. Video would certainly expose the mistakes. Normally I can tell what I've done wrong but a couple of times this weekend I thought I had a good hook set but eventually lost the fish. I lost at least one that would have been worth measuring. Not a beast but good 3 lb. fish.
A bit of advice from a fellow southeast challenge series competitor - just hook the smaller ones. They stay on better.
Which pit did you fish in..the one managed for trophies? I live in Orlando and am thinking about going to fish there soon..j ust need a secure rack for my car. I usually stay close to where I live. Caught a 9lber a few weeks ago from a semi-private lake in Fern Park. I fished at pit #5 I believe last year from shore and didnt get a hit. Definalty need a kayak or a small boat to fish the pits. What are the hours of operation again and days? thanks man!

I am not aware of a trophy lake at tenoroc. However, someone else(that does not fish) asked me the same question a couple days ago. I'll have to ask them next time I go.
I was fishing Picnic. They are open Fri-Mon 6am-8pm I think
