Fathers Day Quick outting!

Postby Fletch » Sun Jun 17, 2012 9:31 pm

Well...first off Happy Fathers Day!!! Hope you had a good as Fathers Day as I did.

So after the kids got dropped off to ex.....I had about 4 hours of day light left today and the weather was incredible. Hit the normal fishing hole. Mr.Green has been there its really a fun lake to fish. Put in and noticed right away Im in for a heck of a time. Even though the sun is shinning and the temp low 80's the wind was gusting good. :( Well fished my normal shoreline route but this time hit opposite shore and fished up half way then crossed the lake and fished down the other side.

Caught mostly rock bass. It was hard to see anything cause of the waves, wind and some (&*^(*&( jerk that was in speed boat buzzing by. F-ing idiots out today . Now if you are cruising in a boat and you see a kayak fishing what side of the lake would you go by and wouldnt you slow down? No this idiot had to buzz with a few hundred feet of me and on the side of lake I was fishing instead of going on other side. Major jerk!!!!! :x So it got to the point witht he wakes that I couldnt even fish. HE was cause 2-3 ft swells by the time the got to me. I decided to call it a day. As I got closer to the dock I noticed the wind had died down to none lol and I could fish but at that point I had had enough of the retards on the lake.

I didnt get skunked and I got to enjoy the nice weather, and get a good paddle in.....so I guess in the end its was worth it.

Glad to hear you had a good day, besides the aholes. I try to give them(aholes) the benefit of the doubt and say they didn't see me. I think kayaks are the motorcycles of the boating world. I have thrown a #2 treble hook at a jet skier who buzzed by me 4 times in an attempt to tip me over.

What set-up were you using for the rock bass?

Thanks..........I was using a wacky rig. Since using it first time two weeks ago its been my go to rig. 2/0 Gamagattzo Octopus hook, red oring and Yum 4 inch dinger.
I had more luck last week with less wind and over cast day with off and on showers...

Sometimes its hard to go wrong with the wacky rig. Sucks about the speed boats too. I'm to the point where after May I stick up in the rivers until about early September-ish because the bigger boats can make it hell.

At least you had a good father's day and got some time in on the water!
