October 23 event

Well, we missed holding September event due to many reasons, so here is the information on this month's event. We will be launching at Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, and the ramp used will be the one at the end of Lee Rd west of 441 in Boynton Beach.

There is an entrance fee of $5 per vehicle and the gate opens at dawn....bring "big fish" gear with you....

I've never been there but would love to check it out. I'm not working that day as of right now, if that holds true, I'll be there!

awesome....a long way down from Orlando.....we do want to hold an outing up your way, can you research an area that would be kayak friendly, will allow us to hang out afterwards, and give some nice scenery/fishing....?

hey Josh, when do you think will be the best time of year, and should we launch out of Okeetantee on the Kissimmee? I think that is the shortest paddle on to Lake O....also, set something up with watertime for us to come up to the Orlando area....

I'll try to come up with some suggestions, what month were you thinking of?

You'd be the boss on those questions. I've never fished the O. Spawn would be awesome to catch some monsters but I'd like to hit it in Late nov/early Dec too.

Only thing really suitable around my area would be Tenoroc. Maybe the State Park at Lake Kissimmee, but that isn't exactly a short paddle to the main lake(not sure how early it opens). Watertime could probably come up with some better Orlando spots that would be MUCH more convenient for you guys coming north.

John's Lake would be a great spot it's right on 50 about 2 miles west of the turnpike, great fishing! I havent fished there this year but have been thinking of running down there sometime in the next couple weeks. I could check the facility's and bite then or maybe Watertime has been on it lately?
