I took the commander out this morning and was fairly happy with it as a waterfowling platform. However for me it is the second string next to my predator k140. I ended up with 2 mallards and a teal plus two lost birds, which I count against my bag and a wet and tired but very happy old dog. Lost birds well it Happens sometimes. I've had better openers and I've had far worse. The C 140 is a fantastic boat and if someone wanted a do it all boat for fishing and hunting with an emphasis on fishing this would be the boat. For me though In the hunting role the k140 beats it on 2 fronts. Stability- a dog will not stay still, just isn't gonna happen and the lower center of gravity and wider beam give the edge to the k140. A flat bottom is a must. the keel on the c140 that make it a fast stable boat on the water are a nightmare to drag over mud and slime and weeds etc. That was a real surprise at 6 am I'm telling you. So Good compromise boat, and better without a dog or in river /stream applications rather than true marsh or flooded ag units. Still love the boat, which is why the vapor and trident 15 are still for sale, because i want to buy a second one. Tomorrow the new pup gets to go in the k140.

Does she ride there the whole way, or just for the hero shot?
Cool hunt! I was looking forward to duck season but work has me going to Mississippi half of the first week split.

Did you ever try those dog boots? I always wondered if they would be a help or a hindrance. I never did as it's just all rocks out here and river rocks are smooth.
I still love the K140. Maybe someday I will trip over one.
