Good on you guys for sitting down and having budget discussions. Do those up front and you'll be forever happy. Come home with an expensive surprise and maybe not so much... ;)

Totaled this one when smashed into by hit and run driver in Ford Expedition that was never caught. Managed to get my paddle out through the back seat but left a bunch of fishing stuff entombed.

Yes I'm certified, I'll probably get another one when the current one croaks. :D
Just for the memories.

My '96 went 380K miles, and then couldn't get the check engine light to stay off for the inspection. Otherwise, I would have kept driving it. Was a great fishing car.

More certification.

I've always thought that was the best fishing car a man could have. The hatch through the back seat into the trunk allowed longer one piece fishing rods, the driver seat laid all the way down for sleeping (beats the hell out of tent in the rainy/bug season), and with standard Bose stereo, the miles and time just fly.

This is the road to one of my bone fish spots called Matheson Hammock in Coral Gables (Miami). I rarely checked the tide charts when I went fishing (saltwater). I'll figure it out when I see it.

This is the same place on a day I wished I had. Spring tides (not necessarily occurring in the springtime) will cause the incoming tides to be much higher at certain times.

Being salt water most folks might have turned around and gone home. But not if you're a kayak fisherman and drive a Maxima! Click to see video below.

I would have to say that my wife says Im crazy when we wade the gulf for trout and reds and have to fight off the sharks trying to get our fish off the stringers.

I have also got a few strange looks when I tell someone I want to get another gator like the one in my avatar ,but this time out of a kayak. :o

I figure that answering the question should be left to others. What I do is completely normal to me, but I recognize that it seems strange to others. For instance, it's 1:24 a.m. I went to bed at 9:30, was in twilight for a while, sat straight up in bed at 10:31 p.m. with an idea. I had part of the idea earlier in the day, but didn't know how to do it until 10:31. For the next almost three hours, I dremeled a Do-It mold, poured lead, shaped wire, powder painted, tied skirts, poured plastic, rigged split rings and set up the right rod/reel/line combination to throw a 1 oz spinnerbait that is an A-rig want to be. I put two of the largest R bend wires I had into a spinnerbait mold and made an old school type twin spin, but with the blades being small swimbaits on 3/0 EWGs on swivels. It looks cool now. Hope the fish think so on Saturday. It will probably get another musky.

   OMG, that is so funny because that's EXACTLY how it goes down here. It usually starts with me saying "Honey come here and sit down, we need to talk."

She got a kick out of that BTW.

We decided "rudder" BTW. Ride135 w/Rudder to be more specific. I convinced her I need a bigger boat than my C-120. Just like the boat Hoover is fishing in when he gets pooped on in the YouTube video.

I guess when I was into cycling, many people thought riding 40 - 60 miles most every Saturday and Sunday with the occasional 100 mile ride was a bit off. And I was pretty tame for a cyclist.

Now I guess it is going to be getting in a tiny platic boat and floating around with scary critters. Of course that is normal here but my frieds are scratching their heads a bit.

Most of my certifiable behavior is long past though. And I'm not admitting to any of it.
