Don't be so quick to restrict that Commander to specific waters, I wouldn't be surprised if you soon have 2 exes

I paddled a Ride 115 and was disappointed (compared to the C120). Don't get me wrong, the R115 is a great yak, but the C120 will always be my true love. Don't be surprised if you soon start feeling the same way regarding the C140 and "ole orangey."

That's possible. But with this being the 14', that might limit me a little more on locations. Won't be quick to manuever as you're 12'. I've got a few spots in mind where it could work, primarily in areas where I don't get in & out as much.
But I do like the idea, the more I think about it, of it for summer smallies. To stand and see the smallies cruising, just like I did the largemouth yesterday.

Does it seem faster than your Tarpon?
I am using a similar boat now, a Native Watercraft Ultimate 14.5T
I had a Ride 135 and a Tarpon 120 but sold them (and a Coosa passed through quickly LOL). Now have the Ultimate and a Versa Board. My bad back didn't like the Wildy seats.

I think the Tarpon is a little faster.
I was suprised with the speed of the 140, which I believe Chad or Chuck mentioned was due to the design. I've spent pretty much all my time so far either in Captain's perch or standing.

That's exactly what I found out and, a bonus to this approach, the boat is lighter w/ out the seat. Plus, if you don't use it to begin with, you'll never know it's not there

That's right Doug - once you get the C140 on plane after the first few strokes, she glides effortlessly across the water and is surprisingly fast.
