Who was that Georgia boy that use to fish Lanier all the time and always wore a Braves hat?
Jesus, I use to watch him all the time.
Along with Hank Parker ( My brother actually played T-Ball with his Daughter when we lived up near Charlotte).
And we had a local guy in Westminster that did his own show. He worked with my parents at Oconee Nuclear Station. Monty McGuffin was his name I believe.

That was Orlando Wilson. I remember he once had the old country singer Tom T. Hall on, and Tom caught the biggest bass he ever caught and wanted to keep it and have it mounted (before C & R was the law of the land), and while showing it off for the camera it slipped out of his hands into the water! He was heartbroken, it was hilarious!
to add to the ones that are already listed...any time the Bassmasters was on i was glued....larry nixon had a show for a while that was good...aint seen it in a while though. and the fish fishburne show was just to dang funny whether it was informative or not
Don't forget about Babe Winkleman. A california boy glued to the tv watching a minnesota guy fishing for walleyes and pikes in the frozen tundra. But, it was great. I even bought pike and walleye gear for cali fishing.
red hollands "outdoors with red" was all i got as a kid. i watched it with my father so much i could recite his commercials found out that someone had compiled his shows and made a website for them. i still watch em from time to time just for old times sake !!!
We had a local guy here in NE Ohio named Joe "Kastaway" Kulis that was mostly on the radio. We didn't get fishing shows until cable TV got a lot bigger in this area and we could start watching stuff from other parts of the country. One of my cousins worked for him as a lead fish taxidermist at Kulis Taxidermy for a while.

Same here, can still remember watching the American Sportsman with Curt Gowdy and the episode of Lee Marvin fishing for marlin and the one of Ted Williams fishing for bonefish. Couldn't find either on utube but found this old clip of bonefishing.

I guess Im showing my age here but when I was a kid we all waited to see Virgil Wards show sunday afternoons. After that it was Fishin with Roland Martin.Him wade fishing ocheechobee with a johnsons spoon and dropping that monster bass before he could get a good pic on film was classic. Then Bill Dance was fun,but I probably learned more and respected Hank Parker as an angler than anyone else, but in the end he kinda seems like a sellout now.
My dad and I used to always watch In Fishermen, Dance, Wilson, Martin, all those shows. I really like Extreme Angler TV on WFN now. Karl Kalonka is a great guy and a hell of a fisherman.
