I was just wondering how do other people carry their bass they plan on cleaning home? I've used a stringer but it tends to cause the "bucket mouths" to hold their mouths open and act like small parachutes dragging behind me in the water. I was just wondering how other poeple do it in their kayaks?
If you are more stubborn than a largemouth, then you'll catch more stubborn largemouth.

I practice catch & release so I don't bring them home. But for tournaments I carry a cooler in the tankwell and use an aerator and Catch-and-Release powder for keeping them calm and in good shape...

I catch and release most of the time. But some of the bass in the water sheds are really good eating and I keep 4 to 8 bass if I keep them, just deppending on the size. Thanks for the tip though.

I catch and release the biguns but do keep some of the mid size. For salt water keepers I either use a cooler that doubles as my crate/rod holder for inshore or a fish bag that straps on the front of the kayak for larger offshore species. Some of my buddies use a stirnger in salt but I don't like the idea of the kayak with stringer acting as a lure!
I have pretty much shut the fishing down at my pond to others due to excessive catches. Still, it is good pond management to take some fish, especially the mid size bass. Lately, I've kept a bass toward the end of the outing to keep them fresh.
I hear some use the floating fish bags in fresh water. I'd love to hear how that works out.

Any fish that are bound for the table are immediately euthanized, bled, and go on ice. The bass I keep are ones that are apparently mortally injured. Doesn't happen often, but it happens. Worm hook or jig in the tongue is the usual culprit.

See I would put a cooler in my big storage in the back and some ice for the fish but I'll only keep them if i catch enough worth cleaning and a lot of times I'll keep a few get them back to the truck and decide not to keep them and put them back.

Only problem with that, is if those were on a stringer being dragged around with their mouth open as you previously stated, than there is a very big risk of them dying from exhaustion. just my .02

Yes, I know I alternate them in the water and out of the water. It keeps them more alive then i want most of the time. I was fishing the other day and had one on a stringer for about 6 or 7 hours didn't have but 2 keepers the whole day and ended up letting him go but he was still very alive I think as long as I set them on the back of my kayak for long paddles they stay very alive. When i put him in the water he shot off just as if i had just caught him.
