Good day of catching

Postby Tide Chaser » Tue Jun 05, 2012 7:40 pm

Wasn’t planning on fishing this morning but randomly woke up at 5am (it was my day off). I decided I would go fishing.

Eased down the road to a lake that is a few miles from my house and launched the yak about 30 min before daylight.

After the sun came up it was overcast and windy, the top water bite was cooking! The harder the wind blew the bigger the fish got.

Ended up catching 12 bass in the 2-3 lb. range the only exception was this toad that absolutely EXPLODED on my top water plug!

The picture does this fish no justice; she is slightly turned away from the camera, but the base of the tail was a good bit bigger than my ankle.
I decided to dunk her in the water before taking another picture then I would send her on her way… put her in the water everything was fine then she shook violently (thought it broke my thumb) then swam away. I won’t be getting that other picture, lol.

Too bad my measuring device is in the mail (just ordered it Sat.), I would have really like to known the actual length.

Here is a few other pics of fish that decided to cooperate.

Just ordered a camera mount, it will be nice having a background other than the bottom of the Ride.

Got home around 1pm watched the final episode of Hattfield’s and McCoys on the History channel and took a nap! Man, it was a good day. :D

Nice! That big one looks like it could swallow a bowling ball.
