I cannot crank with my right hand, no way. Even worse would be working a lure with the rod on my left hand!
But I think I've hijacked the topic...
I haven't mono for two seasons but I am going back to Berkley Big Game for reaction baits. Good quality, inexpensive and available at Walfart.

I guess the only reason I can think of is that is how it was when I learned to fish. Been doing it for 40 years so it just feels natural. Never had a need to change.

Adam,
I'm as messed up as you. I cast casting reels with my right, switch hands and reel with my right hand. But I throw Spinning with my left hand and reel with my right. I can't for the life of me cast a spinning rod with my right hand. And I can't for the life of me cast a casting rod with my left.

Oh well, It works, so I go with it!!
