See, here is a guy who gets it. :D

I've seen that before. RH Baitcasters and LH spinning reels. I am sure there is logic behind it, I can't remember what it it :P

I cannot crank with my right hand, no way. Even worse would be working a lure with the rod on my left hand!

But I think I've hijacked the topic...

I haven't mono for two seasons but I am going back to Berkley Big Game for reaction baits. Good quality, inexpensive and available at Walfart.

I guess the only reason I can think of is that is how it was when I learned to fish. Been doing it for 40 years so it just feels natural. Never had a need to change.

Get PP to explain his casting form to you sometime.....it's really interesting and on a old thread here somewhere.
Here's the thread: viewtopic.php?f=65&t=14043&hilit=cast+left+or+right

Adam,

I'm as messed up as you. I cast casting reels with my right, switch hands and reel with my right hand. But I throw Spinning with my left hand and reel with my right. I can't for the life of me cast a spinning rod with my right hand. And I can't for the life of me cast a casting rod with my left. Oh well, It works, so I go with it!!
