All this talk was killing me so I had to try it. Although I thought I had some hooks that would work but when I got home, the ones I was thining about might be a little small.
Oh, and I got some Zoom Horny Toad hooks.................. cause I was horny.

Little tip: Instead of 0-rings you can go to the cosmetics section of Walmart or any other similar store and look for the packs of little black or clear small round rubber bands. I think girls use them for something but not sure. Anyways you can get like hundreds in a pack for less than a dollar at Wal-mart. wrap it around the senko, a few times so it's tight, and the rubber band will get bunched up and form an X. you then put the hook through the center of the X and voila. Same thing but extremely cheap.
It's kind of hard to explain, but I got it from this guy.
Edit: Sorry that was the wrong video, this is the right one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2Vr_5uallAat 11:40 he shows you how to rig a wacky rig with a rubber band.

I usually keep a senko tied on at least one of my rods. usually just texas rigged or wacky using these:

Last summer I took a bunch of friends who hadnt really every fished. I only tied them a weedless wacky and green/watermelon, blue/lack, and pumpkin/watermelon senko. They all caught tons of bass, even some decent ones in the 3-4lb range. Went through about 40$ in senkos but well worth it.

Why would one of the most successful plastic lures of all time have a "bad rap"? Because it catches fish? If that's the case, I surprised tube jigs and white spinnerbaits aren't illegal.
If you think a senko lasts a long time fished with an oring, you should try shrink-wrap tubing. I sometimes go the entire fall smallie season on 2, 4" senkos.

Well, I must have caught 20 fish today on regular Texas or Florida rigged worms and didnt get a sniff on a yum dinger. I wacky rigged it, I rigged it weedless, nothing.

Agreed.

Honestly, I don't "killem" on a t-rigged, wacky rigged, or nose-hooked Dinger. Sure, I can and do catch fish on them, but it's not as automatic
where I fish as it is in cleaner, clearer waters. I think the visual attraction of the quivering wacky rigged Dinger is the "trigger", and in water so muddy you can track a 'coon across it you loose that trigger.

That makes sense. I was fishing typical S. FL canals today so it was dark water and lots of cover. Definitely wasnt ideal for the finesse bait. The lake we are fishing for the next Florida get together looks really clear. Probably a better bait for that day.

In those waters, I'd go with a Reaction Bait. Something that pisses them off so they will DESTROY!!! Rollin tore it up in some of those canals on a Horny Toad few weeks ago.

I've caught bass in dark water on the senkos, grey is always a good bet in that color water. Pretty much agree that it's not ideal for senko as first choice. Have on rigged on for a follow-up to a reaction bait like Scrogg suggested. Or simply drop it into some vegetation openings
