So I stepped up to the plate back on May 2 and put $215 on the cash wrap and walked out of BPS with a hot-shot WarEagle chunkin mo-sheen. Well, it didn't even last 4 weeks....6 half day fishing trips, maybe 12-15 fish....before the stinking reelseat decided it wanted to be movable. The Fuji Seat didn't break, the rod didn't break, but the glue bond between the reelseat and the rod blank let go. I was retrieving a spinnerbait this morning and I looked down and noticed that all of the guides were pointed off to the right at about the 2 o'clock position. "WTF" I think to myself "Houston, we got a problem".
To make matters worse, I just looked online and see where it's going to cost me $ and time to send it back. I thought all of you GLoomis fans have said it's an over the counter swap. Everytime I talk about St. Croix, somebody always comes back bitchin about the St. Croix warrantee and saying if it was a "good" rod, like a GLoomis, it would have an over the counter exchange. This is my only GLoomis and based on the long durability experienced with this one, it might be my last.
