Any shoe that you wear barefoot and get wet will eventually stink. The best thing i have found with my keens is to let them air dry out side and to throw them in the washer every few weeks using hot water an then air dried outside.

I have not owned the neoprene booties but for my neoprene wading socks i usually rinse and hand wash thoroughly and turn inside out to dry for a few hours then back the normal way for a few hours.

On any type of shoe though make sure they are completely dry before storage or you will get some serious funk brewing.....

I have a pair of these from Columbia http://www.columbia.com/Men%27s-Outpost%E2%84%A2-Hybrid-2/BM3669,default,pd.html
They breath well and are very comfortable but the water doesnt drain very well at all. Ive been wearing them as regular shoes lately since they are so light and comfortable. Looking for a different pair for kayaking though.

Finding it hard to beat my new pair of Keens Newport H20 I got on sale when the Richmond Gander went out of business. They work just fine for kayak trips. Sure a little gravel, sand and rock gets in them, but a quick swish takes care of that.

If I know I will be wading a lot (low water float/hike, or just a wading fishing trip) I still opt for my wading boots with felt soles. They aren't an option in Maryland any more though.

Best wading shoes I've seen aren't made any more. :(

Put the shoes in a plastic bag and stick them in the freezer for about 15-30mins and they will be stink free. The freezing temps kill the bacteria.

I have put about 50 hours into my new Columbia Drainmakers and absolutely love them. My favorite river shoe by far.

Recently bought Solomon TechAmphibians for the 2nd time. Love em but bought a pair of Crocs for the first time and I think I like them better. My friends in Florida have been using them for years and I would always make fun of them because they quacked like a duck if you didn't wear socks and they came in some pretty bland colors. Looked at them in Academy Sports the other day and "wow", lot of new styles and colors over the ones I first remember seeing.

Bought a pair and can't take them off. Most comfy shoe I wear. Haven't even let my Solomon's touch the water yet. Not sure how they would work in the river as I am more lake and salt water guy.

I use the powerdrains (basically the same only with elastic laces) and they are awesome, good grip, drain fast and all day comfort. I spend most of my week in water shoes so they have to be comfy and functional. Going to have to try the freezer trick..they do get odor pretty quickly!!

It worked pretty good. I also ran them through a Hot Water cycle in the wash. It's just something gotta deal with I guess.
