Sorry it took so long to get this up officially, but here are the final standings for the inaugural HOW Saltwater Charity Calcutta! Congrats again to not just the winners but to all the participants. And with out further delay....here is the rundownand the payout as out out in the begginning of the original thread:

1st place: Doc..........................$120

2nd place: FLJERRYP13..............$100

3rd place: NELBAG.....................$80

And $320 to HOW!!!!!!

If winners would take the time to PM Knot Right or myself with your real name and address we'll make sure to get a check on the way!

Oh, and the mystery fish was a certain size fish that nobody happened to hit so it will roll over to the next calcutta.

Let's all do our best to get the word out and get more participation for next year so those payouts increase for everybody!

I was a bit surprised that more kayakanglers did not enter.... even more surprised that I sneaked into first. Once again the old addage that "even a blind squirrel finds a nut..." has come into play.

I plan to beat the drum for the KBF salt water challenges in 2011. It would be good to have a schedule soon, at least for the first few months of 2011.

As part of the end of the Kayak War year long season suggestions are taken for rule changes. I am lobbying for fresh water bass to be included. I know there are some regulars on KBF that are also on KW teams. It would be great if you could lend some support. Also, if you fish salt and are not on a KW team, you should check it out. It doesn't have to be over the top competitive ..... unless that's what you want.

Congrats to the winners! The checks are in the mail!!

On a side note, we will not be having a full fledged Saltwater Challenge Series next year on KBF. Hobie is not returning as a sponsor and it was just too difficult this late in the game to go out and find another title sponsor. So, for 2011 we are going to run a full season of HOW-cuttas and use them to raise money for the Heroes on the Water while still providing a fun, competitive and rewarding Challenge Series for the users on KBF that favor saltwater pursuits! Stay tuned for details, but they will be similar to this one with added money, prizes and individual HOW-cutta sponsorships. Thanks again for all that participated and hope to see you back in 2011.
