Then I would recommend you buying the book on SLIDER fishing by Charlie Brewer. Bail on the video, it's a snoozer. I have it, it's nice, but painful to watch.

The book now is different. I've read it about 8 times now and each time learn something new.

It's amazing how something so simple can turn into such a learning experiance. Read the book. Go fish. Then at the end of the season, read it again. Repeat.

I've always said that SLIDER fishing is not necessarily a jig or a chunck of plastic, its a technique.

Focus on the techinque - any chunck o' plastic on lead will work.

The two basic techniques to focus on are "Do-Nothing" and "Lift-n-drop".

I watched one of his YouTube videos - slowly crawling the thing across the bottom...that's fine, but I have trouble envisioning that on the bottom of the Potomac when wading. There are more than just pebbles on the bottom and I can see a day of snag after snag, etc...BUT I have had success dead sticking tubes on the Susqy river when I thought that would be a waste of time. I will check out some of these jigs and some suggested above and hit those eddies...Thanks.

That's not SLIDER fishing.

Dragging a SLIDER jig across the bottom will result in allot of loses. Suggest either a flutter jig from Winco or a draggon head from Confidence will reduce the number of snags. Now if you impale the hook in wood, then the jig's gone unless you can get to it & pull it out.

Don't limit that technique to just the Susqy.

I've read the book and now misplaced it at home somewhere. :(

I've had success on the "do nothing" retrieve. Works great with my beetlespin, or a curly tail grub on a jig.

I have not had as much success on the lift and drop.

Yes, dead sticking a tube works great for smallies.

I am trying to order on Confidence Baits website and the checkout box seems "hung-up". It is not putting my order through. Has anyone had a similar problem ordering from them? Thanks.

I have never had an issue when ordering from Confidence baits. If you continue to have problems you can always try to PM Jefflittle on here.

Brewer Spider heads in 1/8 oz rig it texas style and you'll never hang again.

Float all day with the same bait and head - catch 50 fish on 1 grub.
