Yes, its one of the rivers in Georgia that make up the Coosa River Basin. The river has the potential to produce a trophy Red Eye bass. According to the interweb any Red Eye Bass that is over 8 inches is considered a trophy. I have caught a few in these waters that would be in that category. Access is limited and the floats are long but like the shoal bass, the red eye thrives in only a few waters. And it also only resides in rivers which makes it even more special. It has often been called the warm water brook trout because of its tendency to demolish a dry fly presented in a riffle or pool.
Excuse my reluctance for giving specific locations, the fishery is quite fragile on the these small waters. I will happily share more specifics in a pm. I have a personal goal this year to either catch/or have a client catch a redeye over 2 pounds. The water has the potential to yield a trophy...just gotta find em.
