Small Forest Lake + Flyrod = FUN

In the sand hills of the Ocala National Forest there's hundreds of small spring fed lakes. With Lake George, Lake Bryant, Rodman Reservoir plus the Ocklawaha and St Johns rivers nearby ( all known for Big Bass and heavily pressured ) and with only a couple of these lil lakes having boat ramps or even being within sight of a paved road ( most require 4wd and sometimes a long Hike/Drag )

Hardly anyone fish's them .......... I Love these Lakes!

I rolled outta bed a lil late this morning not launching till 6:30 with my 4wt and 6wt ready to go.

First fish 6:40



Released that one next cast



A lil break then this guy Blew Up on my lil bug



A few minutes later and this lil guy jumped my bug



I'm a little concerned about how low this lake is getting



In March I was able to paddle into the back section of this lake Not Now



It's 7:45 the suns up and fog has burnt off time for the 4wt and some Bluegill!
He fought Bigger



another nice one



And then this guy came along and put a whipping on me and my 4wt



Water is so low and clear the fish are'nt up in the reeds and lilly pads their out in the submerged grass beds, I hope we get rain soon.



Oh well 2 hours about a dozen fish, not including the pickerel who cut me off and stole my favorite bug time to head home for breakfest
