Any fly tiers interested in helping out a good cause?

Postby Hanover_Yakker » Mon May 21, 2012 1:22 pm

I am cross-posting this request for Cory Routh of Ruthless Outdoor Adventures. He is in need of 12 Patriotic Flies in any pattern but must be red, white and blue. These flies will be presented to participants in an upcoming Project Healing Waters event and will be presented in nice presentation boxes and handed out at the 2012 TKAA Charity Tournament this September. Let me know if you are interested, and I will PM you my home address for you to send the flies to.

Count me in Chuck.
I work with Healing Waters at McGuire VA Hospital
in Richmond with fly tying classes and fly fishing outings.
They are a great bunch of folks.

p.s. thanks for the fly tying material you gave me at the
YakAttack Tourney.

man i would be honored to help with a project like that ! not sure my tying is up to snuff but i can work something up and if yall can use it , fine, if not , fish with it :D won't hurt my feelin's a bit ! i bet a patriotic stealth bomber would be a fun project to try . just let me know where and when you need it. i will be away from my gear for 10 days comin up soon but can get right on it when i get back. i also have access to 1 or 2 more tiers that would probably help as well if needed. just say the word.

As soon as you can get them to me the better, but I would appreciate them by the end of June. That way, Cory has time to work on the custom presentation boxes for the giveaway later this year.

Absolutely - the more variety Cory has to select from the better. Use your imagination - any pattern is acceptable as long as it is done in red, hite and blue. When all of the flies have been completed and delivered to me, I will compile a photo album with credits to each tier and post them here. I am going to suggest to Cory that he should also recognize the tiers at that TKAA tournament when the flies are presented to the Healing Waters participants.

We are looking for 12 flies from each tier - Cory will piece them together and distribute them equally in the presentation boxes at the TKAA Tournament in September.
