Swift Creek at Brandermill

has anyone been out to Swift Creek in Brandermill this year? Last year this time I was catching 100's of Crappie and ringperch (almost a pound) in the shallows. Been warmer this year, may be worth a shot.

I talked to some guys who were having luck with largies about a month or so ago but nothing recently. I'm sure it won't be long until she heats up.

Is that a private place meaning do you have to know someone who lives there to get on the lake?

I have driven by it a few times and always wondered if anyone could fish it.

Anyone can fish the res, but to launch from the brandermill ramps I'm pretty sure you have to be a resident. There's a public launch (37.435228,-77.685249). I don't think anyone regulates it but many people launch their jon boats there.

Unfortunately, the public launch has been closed... so you basically have to get in there commando style. They are fairly forgiving on where you park... I guess cause they know the access is limited.

I have a friend who lives near there and he checked with the county. Since the body of water is for the county water supply, the neighborhood has no rights to prevent people from being on the water; however, they can limit access to the water via their own respective land rights. Most folks don't really say anything though as long as you are considerate and not dragging the yak through their yard   .
