Well we had a great showing for the Lures tournament today, in attendance were Sergio, Mike, Andrew, and me. We got on the water at 0815 and started fishing. During the early part of the tournament the weather played nice but around 0900 the wind kicked up and blew 15 to 20 mph the rest of the day making the fishing difficult at best. Sergio scored first with a feisty 13 incher that would start his two fish run that would take him into the winners circle. The conditions were as follows:
Air temps started in the 60's and got up to about 75 while we were out.
Water temp was 65 degrees
Water clarity was about 2 ft
The sky was cloudy most of the morning but it cleared up around 1100
Can't say what everyone else was using today but I threw cranks, jigs, and a confidence baits big bird.
Sergio managed to pick up a second fish off a steep bank in the Concho river portion of TB using a soft plastic lure that had Magic in the name.
Mike picked up a fish on a crank bait that I believe he said was about 16 inches.
Sergio took the tournament with a total of 26 inches
And took home four nice hard lures and one slick looking trophy
Andrew and I got the ole skunk award for trying hard and getting nothing...lol
Here are some pics of the beginning and the ending of the tourny...
