Self Rescue Practice in Richmond Area

Postby vakayakangler » Thu Jun 04, 2009 7:32 am

I promised Simon Tina and I would include him in our seasonal Self Rescue Drills, and we have no problem making it an open call. We usually do this on a Tuesday or Wednesday at Sandy River Reservoir, although I can check with Bear Creek Lake and see how they feel about letting us use an area off the beach.... this is busy season for them... so I don't think that would work.

Sandy is a no swimming lake but we spoke with DGIF the very first time we started this and they have had no problem with the drills. They think it is a great idea. We paddle out away from the launch, find an unoccupied shoreline with water deep enough for safety...

This coming week 9th and 10th are open, as well as the 16th and 17th. Gang? BP, Wallbanger, Simon? Anyone, Bueller? Anyone.... which dates work best for the group?

I want to, but I am working on the first two days and then I will be at the beach for the next two days listed.

We can still get together when we have days that line up, and work in a session before we start fishing. 1/2 hour well spent. We find that if you wait until you come back in... you are too tired and end up "waiting til next time."
