Very cool. Looks like a lot of fun!


When OKFC goes out on their once a month trip, there's upwards of 25 boats. Plus all the other 'yakers out there. I was out one time, I counted at least 30 boats. If there were fish on the flats, we were going to find them.


That trip was the longest paddle I've done, some 5.5 miles each way. Coming back in, with 10+ mph winds was BRUTAL. Took us almost 2 hours to get back in.

I caught a few trout, spooked a few singled out Red's, snagged some large mullet and got a little wet. All in fun. And the day was beautiful from early am - early pm.

Glad to see you made it w2n; I hope the trip was a blast. We tried to get to the farm pond yesterday, made it thru two gates and two pastures and captured two wayward calves along the way, but when we got to the third and final gate to enter the last pasture, we had to turn back and go home, working our way carefully back thru the first two pastures.

After 7 inches of rain, the cows had turned the last gate area into a mud bog and the first couple hundred yards of road into a slough... my truck would have handled it easily, but would have probably torn up the pasture a bit, and that would have been disrespectful. We would not want to do anything there to wear out our welcome, I guess that BIG boy will be waiting in a week or so when the fields dry a bit.
