Mmmm Mmmmm Chocolate Milk

Postby Neo » Tue Feb 21, 2012 4:11 pm

Yep that is what the water was like. I wanted to paddle a ways up stream anyways so it was kind of a blessing the fishing was a little slow. After what I'm guessing was about a two mile paddle I found this cool little creek that goes way back into the woods. Well I thought it did until I ended up behind some houses. So much for seclusion. I think it will be a great place once the water clears up. Anyways I missed a couple in there even had a short strike on a Horny Toad. SwEEEt. I was gonna run out of light if I didn't pick it up so I made a short stop to fish some rip rap under a bridge and picked up this little guy.

Got him on a Green Pumpkin Seed Brush Hog.
Not really sure the depth of water the battery on my ff took a crap. When I launched the water was around 61*. Skies were mostly sunny temp about 64*. Needed to start booking it so I jammed to a cove that is not far from the launch and picked up this dink here.

After that I missed one at the landing while I was waiting for two boats to land. All in all I am actually pretty happy about the day. The conditions were less than perfect and I still caught a couple fish. I also found a place that looks to be promising. So not a failure by any means.

How dare they put a house next to a secluded creek! I wish I lived in one of those houses! That was a nice chunky 14" fish man, so close!

I thought I was getting away with something. The up side is I think it would be pretty tough for a boat to make it up in there. One of the houses in there had a boat docked back there but I really don't know how they got it there. It's a pretty tight fit.

I'm definitely going back. It just looks way too good to not go.
I'm going to my favorite pond tomorrow maybe I can put some points on the board. I sure hope so.

I have found cool muddy water to be a challenge also up here at logan martin but so far this spring even though we have had a decent amount of rain it has not been enough to muddy the water... yet ;). Every outing is a blessing! Isn't it great when you find a place that you haven't visited before!
