A few reds today

Postby jazd78 » Tue Feb 28, 2012 8:38 pm

Here is a short video of a couple of reds caught today. Incoming tide with a stiff wind blowing made sight fishing impossible. I set up on an oyster mound with the incoming current flowing just beside it. The reds were waiting just outside the current in 3ft of water. They hit DOA paddle tail lures and Berkley Gulp shrimp on 1/8oz jig head. Finished the day with 7.

Nice work. I love it when they're predictable.

Would love to get into some reds this year. They were scarce here in VA.

I love the salt. The reds are pretty active once u find them. I did notice some small red worm looking critters on them though. I don't remember seeing them on the reds I caught while stationed in South Carolina.

about 1/2 inch long? I've been catching some with sea lice (copepods) the past few weeks.

Good Looking Reds, I was thinking about doing a lil Redfishing this weekend but the weather report says 15-20mph winds with 25mph gusts for Sat and Sun to much for me. I'll be out on the little lakes this weekend :D

@TooBusy yeah I guess the sea lice are up here too. Those things look nasty! The fish seem heathy though.
