I have caught some when fishing deep or drug a few out of dark over hangs while bass fishing. A couple areas I noticed the rip rap starts to come a live at dark, which makes sense with their glowing eyes. But most people fish around here during the day and the chart below shows the water temp is best (warmest) just before dark even though it just dropped off during the present cold front.

Plus we are heading towards full moon this week and all full next week for more light at night.
When do the Walleyes turn on? Water temp, amount of light? Full moon or new moon better and fishing after dusk Vs. day time?
