Spent a lot of time on the decks of the LPHs and the LHAs myself and I miss it as well... where else would they pay you to fly fast and low and shoot machine guns out the window?

Those last lines mean more than I can say. I am home. I appreciate that very much. I was and am I guess a Mark 1 , Mod 0 Boatswain Mate. When I retired I was a LCU Craftmaster. I now teach at the Army School of Transportation at FT Eustis, VA. I wore all colors of flight deck jerseys but purple and green. Deckape is a term affectionately earned because we have strong backs and weak minds. But everyone runs when Bos'n yells go!
