1 hour and 12 minutes from Annapolis

Fishing Licenses that cover the area of the Mattawoman where we will fish:
Virginia Fresh Water
Virginia Salt Water
PRFC
Maryland Bay Sport

Image

The PRFC License is probably the least expensive ($ 10.00) but unfortunately they do not offer online sales (only walk in and mail in):

Maryland License:

Virginia License:

It's come to my attention that a bangstick might be more trouble than it's worth. I don't want to draw any negative attention to this outing so at this point I'm NOT bringing it. If information surfaces contrary to what I've been hearing, then I'll gladly change my mind.

I'm also sorry for potentially going overboard w/ some of my recent posts regarding this device, I can get a little excited & carried away w/ my ideas sometimes.

OK, Here come a couple of shots from last weekend's scouting trip. Keep in mind that we had a decent day out there on a day where the water temps were still in the mid 50's, and I had frost at my home in Carroll County when I left. Leading into this, we will have mid 80's to possible 90 degrees. Full moon is approaching too. Should be amazing. This first shot is my buddy Jason standing in the Ride 115, his second time in a kayak. Please take note of the kind of "thinning out" of the pads in the lower left of this shot. This is the kind of sweet spot that many of the fish, both bass and snakehead came from. It's not an edge, just a thin area, that Jason and I agreed were spots that were a little bit deeper. Some were linear, possibly showing a channel. Other well marked channels, hard crisp edges that drained the pad fields did not produce as well as what you are looking at here:

Here's the freebie I handed out at last week's scouting trip. It's a Confidence Baits Finesse Buzzbait in gold sculpin.

Edit: Why does Photobucket suck all of the sudden? The cropping and resizing don't convey once I copy the link to this site. Anyone else have a better photo host? They "fixed" what was not broken, and broke it. OK, done with my muttering, more photos coming along shortly (probably uncropped).

After going through photos, I think that we got 4 snakeheads total. Here's another:
