Spinnerbait storage

Postby archeryrob » Thu May 03, 2012 7:10 am

How are you all storing your spinnerbaits? I like the Plano 3600 type boxes, but they re just too wide for the slots. They pop of of the slots and make a mess everytime I get one out. I also like the standard 14x9 size in the crate. I have 10 and growing with the striper lures now. I just take 5 with me in the kayak.

I don't like the square spinnerbait holder as I don't need to take 50 with me and the square design messes up the crate organization. I was thinking of just taking a hack saw and making shallow slots in the long divider and placing two in each slot with heads and blades reversed.
"If you can't have fun doing it, it ain't worth doing." ... or you're just doing it wrong. :D

I use a binder/wallet type of thing. The one I have is maybe 6"X6". I like it. Doesnt take up much room at all and keeps them from getting tangled. It has tons of insterts so you can take as many baits as you want for sure.

I've been using the new Plano boxes http://www.planomolding.com/2010/12/fto ... its-handy/
I really like them they keep my spinnerbaits well organized and tangle free, they are also sized in both 3600 and 3700 so they fit in my Crate just perfect!

I have tried everything in decades of fishing these bladed baits. Best I have found is this Plano. Although I could fill up two 3700s, I just carry one of the 3600 on the water.

I had the same problem with the 3600 boxes. At first I didn't want to use the big spinnerbait box, but once I got one I filled it with spinnerbaits and buzzbaits in a way that I can have some options on size and color and still have some room with them. I think maybe a binder would work best for you as you want something that saves space as you don't want to carry 20 spinner/buzzbaits.

I could easily carry two of these on every trip but I keep it down to one. I wish someone would make a better storage container for spinnerbaits.

Plasticpirogue I..... use the same one and it works great. I've tried the big rectangle box but I found they got to tangled sometimes. So I switched to this style and it fits just as nice in my crate or tackle bag or right in front of my kayak seat for that matter.
