anyone have any suggestions for jig specific or sized rods for a casting reel. Im thinking of upgrading from my veritas medium heavy to something a little taller and more capable. Budget is about 150 but would prefer 100 so i can try and grab a chronarch instead of another curado later this season. Prefer split grip, but have no problem with an ergo designed regular handle
thanks

How about the Shimano Crucial Casting Rods? They look and feel awesome in the store and I'm always tempted to take one home with me....just need another rod like a need another hole in my head....

They make worm/jig rods as well as rods for pitching/flipping. but they;'re right at the top of you price range
They also have the Compre which is a little less but looks just as nice....got fuji guides and what not

Denali Jadewood 843WJ (7' MH fast action)at $99 or if you are fishing heavier jigs than maybe 1/2oz regularly, check out the Denali Jadewood 844WJ(7' H fast action) at $109. Tough to beat these rods at the price!

Also, it's hard to beat a Mojo. I've got a couple of those and a Rage from St. Croix and I love'em all plus they have some good warranty service if you would ever need it

Ive heard good things about Powell Diesel rods.
http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Powell_D ... -PDCR.htmlI havent personally used them yet, but I plan on getting a spinning model for saltwater...if it breaks it doesnt break the bank.

How heavy of a jig?
River or Lake?
Current?
Depth?
I fish class I to III rivers with up to 1/4 oz jigs & plastics w/ a 6' Medium Action Fast rod. Typically jig fish requires sensitivity and a feel of the bottom, so a high modulus graphite rod is a must. For a good sensitive rod, look towards the top end of your price range.

mostly lake fishing, but the rivers i fish dont have too much of a current. usually use 1/4 oz to 5/8ths
Ive done medium rods with jigs, and Ive learned its one of those things where heavier is better
Thanks for the suggestions, Im unfamiliar with most except the mojo, but will take a look at them all.
Any suggestions for size/ action. I was thinking 7 foot or larger and medium heavy to heavy action with extra fast tip

I second the quality of Mojo's, but that Powell Diesel looks great. I just have qualms about no warranty.

I'd go with a Med/Hvy or (Hvy rod myself). I personally like the longer rods so you can take more slack out of the line when you set the hook as well as fight the fish around the kayak.
The Dobyns Rods Savvy Series are in your upper price range.
