Potomac Snakehead tournament

Postby yinzyaker » Sat May 19, 2012 12:06 am

So I found a snakehead tournament on the Potomac on June 2-3 www.potomacsnakehead.com It is at Smallwood state park, but you can fish any wear on the Potomac. I was wondering if anyone attended last years tournament and could let me know how it went. The rules say you can fish from bank or boat. And it also says that kayakers can form teams of no more than 6 people. I wanted to see if anyone might be interested in getting a team together. I figure their is enough interest in snakehead fishing lately that it might be possible to form a few teams from everyone here on KBF. It sounds like it would be a cool event and wanted to let everyone know about it.

I am interested in this event too; I am planning on heading out to do some reconnaissance for this event in the next few days. If you want to form a team I know at least one other kayak fisherman who will probability want to join up; I will speak to him asap if you want me to get him signed up also.

I'd go, but I am not paying $50 for doing my public service. I don't see a charity making any money and it is likely a group or a guy making the money off of it. but it does not state it that I can see, so I be it is a money making enterprise for one guy.

If it was HOW or make a wish or some other charity benefiting I might consider it. I have seen many of these "tournaments" run for the groups, or one persons, own good.

I'd be glad to meet up and snakehead fish with any of you all any time though. :D
