Flounder Fishing

Postby Treuse Goose » Thu Jul 09, 2009 10:20 pm

I rarely find my self out fishing for flounder plenty of them around, but prefer the reds and trout, flounder are like a bonus since they taste so good.

If I am fishing for flounder I like somewhere that has good tide movement, and structure. Best places I have found is old pier pilings. I like to use Gulp Alive 3" shrimp as bait slowly pumped on the bottom. If live bait is your ticket finger mullet or mud minnows can work very well at times.

Here are some pics of these lovely Texas flounder..Enjoy!

Or you can be 210 # and paddle a Search 13, T120, original style Ride, Caster 12,

The footwells flood from just me and my gear. Another reason for the biggest loser challenge. :?

Didn't take pics last week but my fishin buddy and I pulled 11 flounder out of a skinny little creek in about an hour. They were laying on a drop off down current from an oyster bar. All bites came from about a 4 foot sqauare piece of real estate.

Hard to beat mud minnows bounced along the bottom. Cheaper and more durable than GULP.
