I am looking for a new BC Rod and I have kinda narrowed it down to the Bucoo 6'6 Moderate Action 1/4-1/2 Oz and the BPS Carbonlite in the 6'6 ML 1/16?-1/2.
There is nowhere close to where I live that I can do a Touchy/Feely on either of them.
I want to use the Rod strictly for SM River Fishing to throw mainly 1/4 Cranks and 1/4-3/8 Spinnerbaits and some 1/4 Topwater Pop R's and Rapala Skitter Pops.
Does anybody use either of these?
In general are the Bucoos and Carbonlites pretty stiff without a lot of Tip action?
Which would you recommend for the type of Fishing mentioned?
Probably 75% or more of my Fishing is done with Spinning Rods (Avids) using various plastics so I don't want to invest in a high end BC Rod for the little that I will use it.

I have the Bucoo in the size that you are describing, it's a great rod actually one of my favorites, and use it for the same uses you are describing. It's light, has backbone, but not stiff, not whippy. If I get another one it will be 7'.
I haven't used the Carbonlite, but I have handled one and it feels great also.
With having never fished the Carbonlite I can't say one or the other.
I don't know if this was any help.

Hmmm....I might have to go down to BPS and do some research for ya...

I do not own a carbonlite, but I have owned a bunch of BPS rods and I have always been happy with them, especially for the money. I've handled the Carbonlite and the Signature Series II rods and they both feel like rods you would fish with all day long and not wanna put down. I know this may not help ya much but all I'm sayin is for the $$$ I don't know if you can go wrong with BPS rods...
I really want the Sig. Series II 6'8"M, feels like it will do everything, but then again I don't wanna be single again!!!

I use a falcon bucoo I picked up from a member on this site and have only been using it for this season. I was actually out today chasing smallies on the New River and was throwing weightless flukes. Like was said before, it's not stiff nor whippy, but a nice balance. Also the weight is phenominal, very light (probably not as light as the carbonlite but comparable in my opinion). I love it and use it as my go to rod and would not think twice about buying it again.
I have only used a carbonlite once; borrowed it from a buddy I was fishing with so I am not too familiar with it but I liked it just not as much as the falcon.

I've owned 2 Bucoos. Both Spinning. One was a "Cranker Spin" that I tried using for jigs and weightless. It was too Moderate Tipped for me and what I was trying to use it for. Now I have the "Open Hook" 6'6" one and have yet to try it.
When I had the first one, I loved how light it was. And very sensitive. It also held up to some banging around on the yak and in the car. I'm glad that I chose the Bucoo. It is a solid rod and is made in America. I like the American flag that is logo'ed on the blank.
I don't think that you will be disappointed with either actually.
Hokie, what model Bucoo did you have?
