One Night Stand KBF Challenge

KBF Members. 2 bass. Dusk to Dawn

October One Night Stand KBF Challenge - SuperNova YakAttackThis Kayak Bass Fishing Challenge is a nationwide, two-bass, dusk-to-dawn online kayak fishing competition for KBF MEMBERS ONLY. This month’s Challenge is sponsored by SuperNova Fishing Lights and YakAttack.  Starting in October, competition hours are increasing to 14 each night as nights lengthen. As with all KBF Challenges, it follows a CATCH-PHOTO-RELEASE format using the TourneyX  tournament management system.

Also in October, KBF will be testing the new Regional Adjustment Factor (RAF) Scoring, which multiplies an angler’s score by a percentage based on the relative size of bass that have been submitted over two years of KBF competition by the top anglers in each region.

[Register Now at TourneyX]You may wish to print the blank form (JPEG on this page or open a PDF for printing) and then check your TourneyX Dashboard at competition start time for the event-specific code.

NOTE: Competition begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 8 a.m. in each angler’s time zone of residence.  All bass must be caught during competition hours and photos taken and submitted during competition hours.

KBF Blank Identifier FormOn both Friday and Saturday nights, the unique identifier code for this event will be posted on this page. It will also be on the TourneyX dashboard and published on the One Night Stand KBF Challenge Facebook page. Competitors may choose to pre-print the form (or use the form they’re already using for Regional Challenges) and fill it out with the codes specific to this event.
Note: This is a KBF ID form similar to the one being used for the KBF Regional Challenges. It need not be identical but must be a KBF ID Form… not a hand-drawn facsimile.

One Night Stand KBF Challenge Competition Rules Addendum

  1. YakAttackVenue Host: TourneyX
  2. Tournament Sponsor: YakAttack and SuperNova Lights
  3. Tournament Director: Joe Haubenreich
  4. Tournament Format: This is a 2-fish Catch-Photo-Release (CPR) tournament powered by TourneyX. There is no limit to the number of bass photos Competitors may submit during the Competition Period. Regardless of the number of photos submitted, only the two longest bass submitted by a Competitor throughout the 14 hours of competition will post to his score and will determine the final ranking.Due to the number of requests from anglers unable to fish on Friday nights, KBF now allows anglers to choose to Friday night or Saturday night, but not both. Sign up at TourneyX for the night you choose to compete. Those who choose to compete during the 14-hour period beginning Friday evening may not withdraw after competition start time and switch to Saturday. Once competition has started on Friday night, they are committed. Otherwise, an angler might fish for awhile Friday evening and, faced with poor results or foul weather, decide to hang it up and and try again Saturday. That would give the anglers free to fish Friday evening a better chance of winning that those who may only fish Saturday. So, for each anglers, it really is a one-night stand…not two. Opportunities for Group 1 on Friday night and Group 2 on Saturday night should be as equal as we can make them.
  5. KBF Challenge SeriesEligibility:
    1. KBF Membership: KBF Membership is required to compete in this KBF Challenge.
    2. TourneyX Membership and Registration: Prior to competition, each KBF Member who wishes to participate must (a.) sign up as a TourneyX user and then (b.) register on TourneyX. The entry fee to compete is $20, payable by PayPal account or credit/debit card.
    3. Competitors must have valid fishing licenses for each state in which they fish. Prize winners must be prepared to submit proof of valid fishing license.
  6. Competition Rules: KBF Rules are in two parts.
    1. By registering, each competitor acknowledges he has read and agrees to abide by (a.) the KBF Competition Rules Standards (including the Release and Indemnification Agreement and Copyright and Use of Images Agreement) and to (b.) the specific rules outlined in the KBF Competition Rules Addendum on this page; and
    2. The competitor further agrees to abide by the KBF Event Participation Terms and Conditions.
    3. Ties will be broken by the photo submission time of the last fish uploaded to TourneyX, regardless of the date. If two anglers, one fishing Friday and one Saturday, both score 38.00″, and the Friday night angler submitted his last photo at 11:30 p.m. while the Saturday night competitor’s last photo was uploaded at 9:45 p.m., the second angler will win the tie even though his photo showed up 22 hours later. Ties will be broken by the time on the clock, not the date on the calendar.
  7. Competition Period
    1. Registration Deadline: KBF Members may register up until 5 p.m. CDT on the final Friday evening of the month (when Group 1 competition begins and photo submissions start).
    2. Competition Period Start and End dates are displayed at the top of the Challenge page on TourneyX
      • Start—Competition for Group 1 begins on the final Friday of the month at 6:00 p.m. local time (for each time zone) on Friday evening and for Group 2, corresponding times Saturday evening. Only photos of fish caught between competition start and end times for each Group are acceptable.
      • End—Competition ends at 8:00 a.m. local time zone on Saturday for Group 1 and Sunday for Group 2. All photos must be submitted to TourneyX by Competition End time for each time zone.
  8. Eligible Water & Location:
    1. Competitors may fish only public-access waters
    2. For-fee municipal, county, privately- or state-owned boat ramps, lakes, and access points are permissible, as long as everyone has equal access to the launch points and to the water, regardless of a launch fee or day-use fee.
  9. button-supernovaAwarding of Prizes
    1. Although competition is divided into two TourneyX events, fishing two different days, this is a single competitive event and all scores will be compiled into a single list and one set of prizes will be awarded for the combined Groups.
