The Realtree Fishing KBF TRAIL Series presented by Dee Zee Truck Accessories & powered by Dakota Lithium will have its sixth stop of the season on the Potomac River on April 9-10, 2022. Hosted by Stafford County, VA, the KBF events comprise two single day tournaments as well as a KBF PRO SERIES event that spans both days.
This is the third consecutive year in which KBF visited the Potomac River on its Trail Series, making it a regular event for the region’s anglers. North Carolina kayak angler and Bizzbaits pro Dontrell Sullivan has fished the Potomac KBF TRAIL each previous year, finishing in the money twice. He captured his tournament on video, catching his fifth fish for a limit with minutes to spare. “I like it because I don’t fish tidal rivers, so it’s something new to figure out,” he says, “You can sit in one spot and the bite will change as the tide does. Last year, the incoming tide triggered a bite as fish moved in from the river channel.”
Additionally, anglers who practice in the area in early April can fish a warm up event with KBF AmBASSador series partner NVKBA.
ABOUT KBF TRAIL and PRO SERIES EVENTS
- KBF competition adopts a Catch-Photo-Release format. Eligible fish are submitted by competitors to the Fishing Chaos app for judging.
