Everything is waiting for the magic moment when your alarm sounds on the water and the text reads “Lines in!”
Kayak Bass Fishing’s 2023 season will begin on January 28-29 in Polk County, Florida. Hosted by Visit Central Florida and Guy Harvey Camp Mack on Lake Kissimmee, the 2023 KBF TENvitational is a two-day CPR invitational tournament held the weekend prior to Dee Zee KBF The TEN. The competitor who wins the tournament will qualify for the last spot in The TEN House, and a chance to make history.
Kayak fishing legend Jody Queen has a lot of history fishing in Florida. The 2021 champion of Dee Zee KBF The TEN, Queen has had his eyes on the Polk County waters since they were first announced. He hasn’t fished them all, however, but his travels as an artist have brought him around Polk County lakes several times. He told KBF the following:
“There are some really good lakes in Polk County. I call some of them “crater lakes,” because some are perfectly round. They are easily accessible, too. But what’s interesting is that some of the highest elevations in Florida are in that county. So you have shallow lakes, like Walk on Water, that are loaded with good fish, and then you have some deeper lakes mixed in, too. And when I say deep, I mean not just deep for Florida, but by any standard. It’s gonna be interesting and fun to start the year there.”
The TENvitational is held alongside the year’s first Realtree Fishing KBF TRAIL powered by Dakota Lithium. If you have your current KBF Premium membership, you can sign up for the TRAIL event. That isn’t the case with the TENvitational. To sign up for it, you must be on its roster of eligible anglers.
