  1. Date(s) of Competition: Friday and Saturday, October 26-27, 2018

  3. Venue Host: Toledo Bend Lake Country, LouisianaTravel.com, and Sabine Parish Tourist & Recreation Commission
  4. Eligibility:
    • 2018 KBF Annual Members or KBF Lifetime Members who qualified by placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in 2018 KBF TRAIL Series Tournaments, or based on 2018 KBF Angler of the Year points accrued in 2018 KBF TRAIL Series Events.
    • KBF Members who qualify for the concurrent KBF 100 Challenge Championship may compete in both events.
    • As a condition of participation, Competitor acknowledges he has read and agrees to abide by (a.) the KBF Competition Rules Standard (which are revised from time to time) and (b.) the specific rules outlined in the KBF Competition Rules Addendum on this page;
  5. Event Schedule: Competition start time is approximately a half hour before 7:26 a.m. sunrise,
    • Thursday 10/25
      • 4:00 p.m.
      : Pre-fishing on Eligible Waters ends
      • 3:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.: Check-in and On-site Registrations at Tournament HQ
      • 7:00 p.m.: Captains Meeting at Tournament HQ
    • Friday 10/26
      6:30 a.m.
      : Earliest Launch
      7:00 a.m.: Competition Start Time; first cast
      • 2:30 p.m.: Competition End Time; lines out
      • 3:00 p.m.: Photo Submission Deadline; all competitors who require assistance uploading photos must be in judges line at Cypress Bend Resort lobby.
      • 4:00 p.m.: Check-in Deadline at Tournament HQ. NOTE: No Captains Meeting; Day 2 Identifier Card is provided to each competitor at check-in.
    • Saturday 10/27
      6:30 a.m.: Earliest Launch
      7:00 a.m.: Competition Start Time; first cast
      • 2:30 p.m.: Competition End Time; lines out
      • 3:00 p.m.: Photo Submission Deadline; all competitors who require assistance uploading photos must be in judges line at Cypress Bend Resort lobby.
      • 4:00 p.m.: Check-in Deadline at Tournament HQ.
      5:00 p.m. or soon thereafter: Door prizes & Awards Ceremony (begins as soon as judging ends)
  6. Format: Ranking in this two-day Catch-Photo-Release (“CPR”) tournament will be determined by the cumulative score, based on length, of up to ten black bass (any species) caught and submitted by each Competitor in accordance with regulations and competition rules. No more than five bass from Friday and five from Saturday will be counted, with no culling on Saturday of Friday’s catch.

  8. Eligible Water & LocationToledo Bend ReservoirAll of the Sabine River upstream from the Toledo Bend Dam, north to the US-84 Highway bridge at Logansport, plus any contiguous backwaters, sloughs, tributaries and water into which Competitor may float on his watercraft from the main lake. If lake levels fall after entering backwaters, Competitor may drag/portage to return to the main lake.
  9. Entry Fee and Registration Procedures
    • $100 registration fee. The prizes for this event also come from a portion of every KBF TRAIL Series Entry Fee during 2018.
    • This Invitational Tournament is conducted using the TourneyX tournament management system
    • Competitor is required to check in at Tournament HQ each day following competition.
  10. Identifier Form & Code — Every photo must include a legible KBF Identifier Card, which will be distributed at the Thursday and Friday Captains Meetings. There will be no Event ID Code. KBF Identifier Cards will also be available at the Cypress Bend Resort front desk; Friday cards will be placed there after 7 PM Thursday and Saturday cards after 5 PM Friday.
  11. Manual Submission of Digital Photos: The preferred channel for submitting digital photos is upload from the angler’s smart phone directly to the TME. If a Competitor cannot or will not upload photos, Tournament Staff is available to assist at the Cypress Bend Resort lobby each day. Competitors who desire for Tournament Staff to upload their photos must  be prepared to surrender memory card or smart phone and USB cable. No Competitor who arrives at the Cypress Bend Resort lobby after 3:00 p.m. will be allowed to submit his media or device to Tournament Staff for on-site uploads.
  12. Prizes
    • First place guaranteed $5,000 payout
    • Payouts proportionally distributed to 10% of field.
    • $7.50 from each KBF TRAIL Series Tournament throughout 2018 is added to the prize pot for this Event. Payout amounts will be determined by the number of KBF TRAIL Series Entry Fees paid during the 2018 Challenge Series season.
    • If First Place winner has enrolled in KBF BONUS BUCKS no later than October 25, he will receive an additional $15,000 Bonus, making his total winnings $20,000 for the Event.
    • Bonuses ranging from $100 to $1,000 will also be paid to KBF BONUS BUCKS program participants who are ranked 2nd through 10th.

    • To be eligible to receive bonuses, Competitors must have enrolled in the 2018 KBF BONUS BUCKS program by midnight CST prior to start-of-competition.
  14. Awarding of Prizes
    • Competitors must be present at the Saturday Awards Ceremony to receive door prizes, awards, and bonuses
    • Cash prizes will be announced at the Saturday Awards Ceremony at Tournament HQ but are not finalized until after the 48-hour Dispute Period closes. Prize Distributions are made via PayPal Funds Transfer after winners have provided KBF with a completed IRS Form W-9. Prize winners are responsible for payment of all state and federal income taxes.
    • Tournament results will be visible online and will be posted on this Web page and on Facebook.

Note: a resident fishing license from either Louisiana or Texas will suffice to fish all of Toledo Bend Reservoir from a boat. If you wade fish or fish from shore, you must have a license from the state in which you’re standing. By regulation, non-residents must have a license from the state in which waters they fish.
