This is an addendum to the KBF Competition Rules Standard and covers rules, restrictions, and details specific to this event only.

  1. Venue Host: Access, accommodations and meals provided to The TEN by Bienville Plantation
  2. Tournament Director: Joe Haubenreich, 615-456-7123
  3. Eligibility to Compete:
    • 2019 KBF Competitor Membership, 2019 KBF Pro Tour Membership, or KBF Lifetime Membership required.
    • Registrants must have ranked among the top 10 in 2018 KBF Angler of the Year competition, placed first in The TEN in 2018 (no roll-down), or placed first the KBF Tenvitational in 2019 (no roll-down). If one or more of the top ten in 2018 KBF AOY ranks is unable to compete, position(s) will roll down to the top 2018 KBF AOY alternate on-site.
  4. Competition Rules: KBF Rules are in two parts: By registering, each competitor acknowledges he has read and agrees to abide by
    • the KBF Competition Rules Standards (including the Release and Indemnification Agreement and Copyright and Use of Images Agreement) and the KBF Event Participation Terms and Conditions.
    • the specific rules outlined in the KBF Competition Rules Addendum on this page; and
    • The competitor further agrees to sign a Bienville Plantation waiver and abide by all conditions of use imposed by the venue host.
  5. Tournament HQ: Bienville Plantation Pavilion adjacent to the Lodge.
  6. Eligible Water: One Bienville Plantation lake, to be announced Thursday evening at the KBF Tenvitational awards ceremony.
  7. Event Schedule
    • Tuesday January 1–Thursday 1/30: All Bienville Plantation lakes are off-limits for The TEN competitors, except they may complete in the KBF Tenvitational competition on Tuesday and Wednesday, 1/29-30. If not fishing the KBF Tenvitational, The TEN Competitors may not paddle or fish Bienville Plantation lakes until day of competition.
    • Thursday, 1/30
      • 5:00 p.m. to 6:0 p.m.: Check-in at Tournament HQ
      • 6:00 p.m.: KBF Tenvitational awards, followed by The TEN Captains Meeting at Tournament HQ
    • Friday, 2/1
      • 7:00 a.m.: Earliest launch and Competition Start Time/First Cast
      • 3:00 p.m.: End of Competition/Lines Out
      • 4:00 p.m.: Photo upload deadline. Anglers unable to upload photos and need tournament staff to manually upload them must sign in with event staff at the check-in at HQ by this time with smart phone or camera with USB cable or media card.
      • 4:00 p.m.: Competitor Check-in Deadline; all anglers must have checked in with staff at Tournament HQ.
    • Saturday, 2/2
      • 7:00 a.m.: Earliest launch and Competition Start Time/First Cast
      • 3:00 p.m.: End of Competition/Lines Out
      • 4:00 p.m.: Photo upload deadline. (See #7, below.)
      • 4:00 p.m.: Competitor Check-in Deadline; all anglers must have checked in with staff at Tournament HQ.
      • 5:00 p.m. (or as soon as possible thereafter): Awards Ceremony at Tournament HQ, starting with Tenvitational, followed by Big Bass Brawl, and then door prizes. Must be present to receive prize(s).
  8. Manual Submission of Digital Photos: The preferred method for submitting digital photos is direct upload from the Competitor’s smart phone to the Tournament Management System (TMS). Because data signal strength on the water ranges from fair to none, Competitors may need to return to cabins or HQ with Wi-Fi to upload photos. If a Competitor cannot upload photos on his own, he must request assistance from KBF Event Staff at Tournament HQ no later than 4:00 p.m. and must be prepared to surrender his smart phone, camera, or cameras’ memory card with USB cable.
  9. Eligible Water & Location
    • Lake to be announced Thursday evening.
    • Prefishing on eligible waters is prohibited from Tuesday, January 1 through Thursday, January 31.
    • Water may be accessed from any point; however, roads are traveled by heavy mining equipment and transport, and many road shoulders are soft sand not suitable for driving and parking. A map with recommended launch points will be provided at check-in and during the Captains Meeting
  10. Entry Fee and Registration Procedures
    • This event is conducted as an online, CPR (catch-photo-release) Tournament.
    • Check-in, Captains Meetings, and awards will be at Tournament HQ.
    • Entry Fee: none
  11. Optional KBF Big Bass Brawl
    • KBF Member-only side-pot, limited to competitors in Tenvitational and The TEN.
    • $100 Entry Fee (for all four days, Thursday through Saturday. Fee is not pro-rated if one competes fewer than four days in the Brawl.
    • Entry fee includes two additional days (Wed/Thur) fishing access to Bienville Plantation lakes during the Tenvitational.
    • Register and pay Entry Fee through the KBF Online Store. Competitors may sign up at any time until then; however, they not eligible for Brawl prizes until the day following registration.
      • Register by midnight, January 29 to participate all four days.
      • Register by midnight on Wednesday, January 30 to compete only Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
      • Register by midnight Thursday, January 31 to compete only Friday and Saturday.
      • Registration will remain open until Friday night, February 1, at 11:59 PM for those competing on Saturday only.
    • Daily prizes: First Place $1,000 and Second Place $250, totaling $5,000 over four days. (No hourly prizes, as poor data signal in most places means most bass will be uploaded on return to cabins or HQ.)
    • Rank is determined by the single highest-scoring bass submitted by a Brawl participant) pays off $1,000 and the second highest score pays $250, totaling $5,000 over four days.
    • Ties are split, not broken. If two or more are tied for first, then the daily prizes totaling $1,250 will be combined and divided equally. If the tie is for second place, then $250 is divided equally.
  12. Prizes.
    • First place is guaranteed $10,000 and is invited to compete in The TEN 2020.
    • Second: $5,000
    • Third: $3,000
    • Fourth: $2,000
    • Fifth: $1,000
    • KBF AOY Points will not be awarded at this event
    • KBF BONUS BUCKS will not be awarded at this event
    • All The TEN 2019 competitors qualify for the 2020 KBF National Championship.
  13. Awarding of Prizes
    • Competitors must be present to receive awards
    • Rankings and rewards will be announced at the Saturday evening Awards Ceremony at Tournament HQ
  14. Tournament results will be visible on the NRS Leader Board and a report will subsequently will be posted on this page, with a recap on Facebook
