Kayak Bass Fishing is expanding to meet the popular demand for more online fishing opportunities. To that end, KBF’s new Smallmouth Series allows anglers to exclusively catch and submit photos of one of the best gamefish in the world, and a species that is native only to North America: the Smallmouth Bass.

As Chad Hoover said in a recent video “The Smallmouth only Series is long overdue. Lots of folks have been asking for it.”

They certainly have. Part of the reason for that is because Smallmouth Bass are “universally distributed” as Hoover noted, not necessarily by region, but by size. Massive Smallies can be caught in the Southern US as well as Canada, thereby eliminating the growth advantage that other bass species have say, in warmer, southern U.S. states.

Additionally, rivers are excellent Smallmouth fisheries, and the series will tempt anglers away from big, busy lakes. Looking ahead, Hoover also noted:

“I think the next iteration will be more of a river only series, where you can portage and drag your boats into backwaters and you can do all those things that river fishermen love….”

If you are just getting into the sport of kayak fishing, have a good Smallmouth fishery nearby and want to get your feet wet in a low stakes event, then this is the perfect event for you!
