Kayak Bass Fishing welcomes Rogue Fishing as the sponsor of the 2021 Rogue Fishing KBF Rookie of the Year race!

The coveted ROY title was won by last year’s 2020 KBF National Champion, Matthew Conant, when he bested several other top rookies on Guntersville Lake during the KBF season’s dramatic finale. In Conant’s words: “It took determination, consistency and a lot of focus throughout the year. I set a goal to reach for the R.O.Y. title in early 2020 and followed that up with attending as many KBF TRAIL events as possible. There is no better feeling than conquering your goals!”

If you want to write the new chapter in the Rogue Fishing KBF Rookie of the Year book and start your kayak tournament fishing career with the top Rookie award in our sport, then sign up for a KBF Premium Membership and book your travel plans today!

Here’s how it works:

  • The Rogue Fishing KBF Rookie of the Year race will begin with the first event of the Realtree Fishing KBF TRAIL Series presented by Dee Zee Truck Accessories in Kissimmee, Florida on January 30-31st, 2021.
  • The race will run over 10 KBF TRAIL events that span 21 days of tournament fishing on America’s best bass fisheries, from Connecticut to California.
  • The 2021 Rogue Fishing KBF Rookie of the Year will be determined by an angler’s combined 3 best KBF TRAIL scores and their KBF TRAIL Series Championship score.
  • The Rogue Fishing KBF Rookie of the Year will be the highest placing first-year KBF angler in the final 2021 KBF AOY standings.
  • 600 points are awarded for 1st place per KBF TRAIL event, followed by 6 point decrements.
  • 900 points are awarded for 1st place in the KBF TRAIL Series Championship, followed by 9 point decrements.

In the end, all the roads will lead to Shreveport, LA, where the ROY race will conclude at the Trail Series Championship on October 13th – 14th, 2021. When it’s over, the 2021 Rogue Fishing KBF Rookie of the Year will be crowned!
